Wardourfest 2019 is all about making Soho feel good – from our chilled out floral garden upstairs to live music five nights a week down in the Restaurant and Club. On Wednesdays, Wardourfest Presents… is a showcase of our favourite up and coming artists showcasing a mix of original work and covers of crowd pleasing favourites. This week, upcoming superstar Jaz Ellington performs.
The Jaz Ellington band are coming to Wardour Street. Fronted by the man himself, Jaz’s voice is a powerhouse of an instrument, and his music is as equally versatile by nature – echoing influences of gospel, jazz, soul and funk.
Jaz spent his formative years developing his sound, refining his tastes, and accomplishing a number of musical achievements, such as his success as a contestant on the renowned talent show “The Voice UK”, where he performed a ground-breaking rendition of John Legend’s ‘Ordinary People’, stirring up a frenzy on social media.
Since then, Jaz has gone on to perform various shows around the country, has opened for the legendary Lauryn Hill and performed alongside some of the UK’s best and brightest talent. He has also landed himself the opportunity to work with Will I Am on a project for NASA.
Currently working alongside Emeli Sandé, Jaz has taken time out of his busy schedule to bring his band to Wardour Street to give us a night to remember.
Our Evening Standard menus are back this summer and you can enjoy 3 courses and a glass of bubbles for £30 in the Club.
