Bacardi Legacy winner at 100 Wardour St

Talented Maurizio La Spina is the winner of the Italian leg and finalist in Bacardi Legacy’s global competition. His winning formula is  ‘Elixir Tropical’, a refreshing masterpiece that pays tribute to the ‘Daiquiri’ – keystone of the whole tropical mixing and a celebration of the great golden age of Cuba. The cocktail itself is ‘your way to escape’.

Maurizio La Spina will be joining us in the lounge bar on Thursday 16th February from 8pm – 11pm, to showcase his mixology expertise and present the infamous ‘Elixir Tropical’. Thirsty Thursdays calls for a drink so why not come along and watch the man himself in action?

About Maurizio La Spina

Maurizio La Spina is a bartender / Italian entrepreneur, born in 1984 in Naples, where he studied economics and interior design. To fund his studies he began working in the bar of a beach, and there he fell in love with bartending, public relations and tropical cocktails.

Following his passion, Maurizio devoted himself full time to the art of bartending and left his studies to work in the best cocktail bar in his city, ‘S’Move cocktail bar’ of Naples up to the ‘Billionaire’ in Sardinia. He developed a fond interest into tropical and tiki drink mixing and created a project called ‘The Marama Project that still unities many bartenders and Italian artists today.

A few weeks ago Maurizio managed to pass the semi-finals of the National Bacardi Global Legacy Cocktail competition in 2017, and February 27 will be in Madrid for the southern Europe final with his drink called “Elixir Tropical” which is a tribute to the Most Holy Trinity, the “Daiquiri “- keystone of the whole tropical mixing and a celebration of the great golden age of Cuba.

Today he works in his training school for bartender’s in Naples as a teacher and continues to study rum and tropical and tiki drinks.
