100 Wardour St presents Acoustic Sessions with The Kings Parade

WHEN: 04-07-2016

Tonight 100 Wardour features a stripped back live performance by two members of The Kings Parade featuring Olly on vocals and guitar and Tom on bass upstairs in the Atrium.

Since the formation of The King’s Parade in 2012, the four-piece’s assured touch of classic Detroit blues with melodic, crossover pop has frontman Olly Corpe and his band evoking the crafted sounds of Jamie Woon, Leon Bridges and Son Little.

After releasing their debut ‘Vagabond’ EP last year as well as a string of singles including ‘Bunched Up Letters’ and ‘Silhouette’, The King’s Parade have seen themselves picking up critical acclaim across CLASH, NOTION, EARMILK and THE EVENING STANDARD. They also independently sold out London’s OSLO on the last leg of their debut sold-out European tour – echoing a growing number of hype acts growing fanbases and selling out large venues completely under the radar.

This is a classic sound honed by musicians that were previously playing together more than 40 hours a week on a Hawaiian cruise ship. Think the Beatles’ unknown early gigs in Hamburg’s strip clubs and you’re about there.

Continuing with their signature style on new release ‘Gathering the Pieces of a Broken Heart’, they continue to refine a new blues blueprint that’s seeing a loyal and expectant fanbase growing by the day. An open letter of love and loss, the track further cements The King’s Parade’s status as one of the most naturally talented and hustling young acts this year.
